Physical Education

Curriculum

At HeadstartEden International School, we believe that a comprehensive and well-rounded Physical Education and Sports program involves offering students a diverse selection of athletic activities, games, and exercises in a fun, secure environment. These programs are led by highly skilled professionals, coaches, and experts in their respective fields. This approach allows our students to develop a passion for physical activity and sports, while honing their abilities year by year, with opportunities to focus on specialized skills as they progress through the school.

HeadstartEden follows a three-phase system for Sports and Fitness Development.

Physical Education (PE) Curriculum
To foster a lifelong interest in sports and physical activity, and to motivate our students to stay healthy, we place great emphasis on a dynamic and engaging PE curriculum. Aligned with the English National Curriculum, our program spans from Pre-School to Sixth Form, ensuring that all age groups benefit from a well-rounded physical education.

In the Foundation years, PE lessons focus on essential life skills like swimming, along with fine motor skills development. As students advance through Key Stages 1 and 2, they engage in a wide range of sports and athletics taught by specialist educators. These activities are complemented by school-wide events, house competitions, and inter-school tournaments, both locally and beyond.

Our team of  dedicated PE and sports coaches, paired with excellent facilities, ensure that every student across all year groups experiences a top-tier Physical Education program. Throughout the academic year, our students participate in a variety of 12 activities, including:

  • Swimming
  • Football
  • Dance and Movement
  • Athletics
  • Primary and Foundation Games Development
  • Fitness
  • Aerobics
  • Yoga
  • Volleyball

This approach allows us to cultivate a love for physical activity while providing students with the skills and knowledge they need for lifelong fitness.

Children made good progress with their physical development through specialist P.E. lessons and play. They confidently and safely show good control and coordination.
